IS THE MEDIA BIASED ?

The local papers cover the city government and ignore the Mayoral candidates. Does this mean that the papers are biased towards who ever is in power or is it just how the papers must function in a small city? All we know is that the campaign has received little coverage and it appears that if the papers really looked at the issues at state then the candidates talking about real issues such as Mel Thompson and the Mayor Staffieri would have their views highlighted more often and contrasted. In reality only the Mayor and Mr. Thompson have spoke of anything of note. So why has the Connecticut Post and the New Haven Registered not discussed the difference in policy between these two candidates?
